Hi, I'm Andrew Pieri. I like to design and develop applications and websites.

I am a DevOps Engineer at Vanguard with a passion for web development and UX design. My main roles include automation, deployment, and full-stack development to ensure ease of use for our clients through tools such as Akamai, Ansible, and AWS. Addtionally, I am experienced in front-end development and inclusive user design. Throughout my time at Vanguard, Lockheed Martin, and Penn State, I have learned valuable programming, web framework, and user accessibility design skills that I can apply to any platform.

Combined with my dual major in Software Design and Cyber Security, I learned the importance of establishing scalable design systems, breathable and accessible web design, and following design specs to implement maintainable solutions. I have been working with both object-oriented and web-oriented languages throughout college and my job experiences such as Python, HTML, SCSS, TypeScript, Angular, React and more. Additionally, I am proficient in scalable web design, adapting to new tools, API development, AI usage, and version control software such as Git.

• Design and develop a scalable front-end of Jira BULK, our team’s bulk Jira ticket creation tool, to modernize the site using the Constellation design ecosystem, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript to abide by Vanguard’s brand standards and Technical Project Specialist’s needs
• Programming and debugging Jira Bulk’s backend, resulting in significant creation efficiency for thousands of jira tickets
• Lead and leverage Akamai in PiTech to redirect Vanguard clients from legacy legacy to modern, which has (to date) redirected approximately 60% of personal.vanguard.com URLs and brought well over 10 million hits to modern
• Implement caching to personal.vanguard, resulting in a 20% reduction in overall traffic and cost to legacy and a 60% reduction in static asset retrieval
• Enhance, update, and debug Ansible platform through on-call support, certificate renewals, migration work (Nexus to Artifactory, BitBucket to GitHub, etc.), and AWS lambdas to ensure steady deployments for app teams
• Provide urgent and long-term support for enterprise-scale application issues such as Edge Redirector lambdas, Akamai redirect issues, client-facing site outages, and Ansible deployment failures
